Recently stumbled across a new artist to add to my list – Ethereal Garden.
From Ethereal Garden’s Bio:

Ethereal Garden is Michelle Barté, a U.S. based new-age and ambient musician who serves as producer, engineer and occasional vocalist. Michelle’s interest in music began at an early age where she studied the piano and transverse flute.
Michelle’s foray into the digital realm of music making began in 1999. Michelle’s earliest projects were primarily distributed and marketed via MP3.com. The music continually stayed at the top of the charts and even made it to the much sought after international top 40. The site did a feature article on Michelle in their “Women of MP3.com” column titled, “A New Standard For Electronica.” The album “Ethereal Dreams” was a top seller with the CD on-demand program.

Hoping for warm winds under you wings, it is a pleasure to share our latest news with you. On a first note we want to thank everybody for helping us help our brothers and sisters from Haiti. Thanks to you we’ve been able to make a donation to help them after the painful events of this past January and we want to express our gratitude for your support and solidarity.
Secondly, we are happy to announce the completion of a brand new track for our upcoming release. The new piece is titled “Fatum fugit” which, translated from the latin, means “Fleeting destiny”; a metaphor of the options we as a civilization are losing as we consistently ignore our responsibility towards our own planet. Presented through Australis’ signature sound, the new track is a rhythmic mixture of melodies that paints an intense scenery of hope and tension.

Moby released his latest CD on Jun 30 and I’ve finally had a chance to give it a listen. It is awesome. Great tracks. Here is a full track list:

I have read many reviews on the release, and most have said that this is one of his best, if not the best, releases yet. However, I’m not sure how you can say it is one of his best, as Moby’s CDs are usually not one style of music, from electric dance tracks to laidback, relaxing tracks. It also depends on what style YOU are looking for from Moby.

In my opinion, if you are looking for a collection of relaxing, background songs, then this is the CD for you. There are a few upbeat songs, but the majority of the CD is more down tempo.

With this release, Moby has introduced video “blips” for the tracks.
